Genelec 7360A is a SAM studio subwoofer for stereo, surround and multichannel monitoring in professional studios, post-production, broadcast and small to medium-sized control rooms. It combines Genelec’s Laminar Spiral Enclosure technology with GLM calibration, bass management and both analogue and digital connectivity.

Positioning and listening position

Place the 7360A at the front wall, preferably slightly offset from the room centre line. The subwoofer should normally be placed close to a wall, as this provides higher efficiency and reduces the risk of cancellations from the wall behind the subwoofer.

The distance from the subwoofer driver to the nearest wall should be less than 0.6 m. Avoid placing the subwoofer far out into the room, as reflections from the front wall can cause clear low-frequency level drops at the listening position.

Placement close to corners can increase bass level but may also create uneven response and asymmetrical imaging. Move the subwoofer step by step along the front wall and measure or listen at the working position to find the most balanced placement.

The 7360A can be calibrated with GLM and AutoCal to integrate with the main monitors. GLM adjusts level, frequency response, delay and phase, and with distributed bass management the crossover between subwoofer and SAM monitors can be set between 50 and 100 Hz.
